Ambassador of Mexico in the Czech Republic since August 2007.
He has held various posts in Mexico and abroad, including:
•Ambassador of Mexico in Switzerland.
•Mexico´s Senior Official in APEC.
•Consul General in Los Angeles, California.
•Deputy Representative to the OECD in Paris.
•Minister in the Mexican Embassy in Washington, D.C., in charge of coordinating relations with the U.S. Congress during the NAFTA negotiations.
•Director General for Multilateral Economic Relations and for Economic Relations with North America, Director General of the Foreign Service and Personnel, and Chief Economic Adviser.
He holds a Bachelor’s degree on International Relations, SCL, from the National University of Mexico, and a Master’s Degree on Economics from CIDE in Mexico.
Was a Professor at the National University and at the Technological University, both in Mexico City, and a guest scholar in UCLA´s Faculty of Public Policies and UCLA´s Program on Mexico. Invited scholar at the Anglo American University of Prague and the University of Economics of Prague, Center for Latin American Studies.
He has published extensively on development and foreign policy matters.
